The laboratory is specialized in scientific instrumentation and the study of matter at the finest scales in order to explain its physical properties and to link subnano-micro-macro-structure scales. This team is interested in the characterization of the thermo-mechanical behaviors of materials at different scales by implementing a multi-physical approach, allowing in particular to study the relations between processes-microstructure and properties. Multidisciplinary, it associates chemists and physicists in "Material Sciences", and most of its work is focused on the study of structure-property relationships. It aims to be a research center open to strong societal demands, particularly related to the issue of energy transition, and a major player in sustainable and intelligent materials and their advanced characterization.
