Jetty Rats is a young-adult fiction novel by Phillip Gwynne. It was his fourth published book, and his third for the young-adult genre. The story is primarily about three kids called Hunter, Storm and Jasmine that go through the rite of passage in which they are all confronted with at some point in their adolescent lives. These are the stages Hunter goes through that tell us he has gone through the Rite of Passage. The first issue that was stated is family.
This is made clear when Sandy comes back into the room and seems very giddy. She and Saphonia then continue to compare opinions and analyse Warwick like teenage school girls. Even though it is obvious that there is attraction in both Warwick and Sandy, Saphonia still insists on pushing herself into the picture, by flirting with Warwick and throwing herself at him at any chance she gets. Despite all this, at the end of the novel, Sandy and Warwick get together, Saphonia loses Warwick and Hunter is fine with the whole thing.
