McClure, E. And Went, J. Baronage analyzed the recorded and transcribed discourses of a total of 14 English language classes in Metro Manila and figured out the frequency and forms of code-switching that they uttered. Her study revealed that most of the English language teachers committed code-switching and the students also have their share of code-switching.

Language can be said to be the most complex and detailed aspect of human existence. This memory encapsulated in language also determine, among other things, how they used language and how language uses them. This volatile characteristic of language has birthed, directly and indirectly, such bridge studies such as sociolinguistics which is. This study examines the impact of code-switching and code-mixing and how they are projected in the Nigerian Language as observed in the selected Nollywood movie Figurine Araromire as directed and produced by Kunle Afolayan. Code-switching and code-mixing are widespread phenomena in bilingual and multilingual communities where speakers use their native language L1 and their second language l2 in different domains of a language structure. The term code-switching emphasizes movement from one language to another and the term code-mixing emphasizes hybridation. The aim of this project is to present why bilingual switch and mix two or more language and switch back and forth while they speak. The case study of this project is a selected Nollywood movie stated above.
Multilingual speakers switch between languages displaying inter sentential, intra sentential, and congruent lexicalization based transitions. While monolingual ASR systems may be capable of recognizing a few words from a foreign language, they are usually not robust enough to handle these varied styles of code-switching. There is also a lack of large code-switched speech corpora capturing all these styles making it difficult to build code-switched speech recognition systems. We hypothesize that it may be useful for an ASR system to be able to first detect the switching style of a particular utterance from acoustics, and then use specialized language models or other adaptation techniques for decoding the speech.
